The Henry Crown Sports Pavilion is an absolutely outstanding fitness facility and easily one of the best places to get a workout in the area. I hit the gym regularly as a core part of my routine, and this place has absolutely everything I need for a serious lifting session. The free weight section is incredibly spacious, featuring plenty of squat racks, benches, and dumbbells, so you rarely have to wait around even during the evening rush. The cardio equipment and machine selection are also top-notch, modern, and kept in pristine condition. Beyond the excellent equipment, the facility is kept impeccably clean, and the breathtaking views of the lake while you exercise are a fantastic bonus. The staff is always friendly and ensures the gym floor stays organized. I highly recommend this pavilion to anyone looking for a comprehensive, high-quality space to train and push their limits!

I only go because it’s free for me. Otherwise, I’d go elsewhere. Almost always crowded unless you go at around 6 am. People sit on benches looking at their phone while you’re waiting for one to open up. People forget to wear deodorant, and since we’re all packed in there like sardines, the smells are PUNGENT. Parking is free before 8 am and after 4 pm. But sometimes, their little events shut down the free parking.

It's just too small and they rent out the facility to too many organizations. Free swim lanes are hard to find, sometimes you have to wait 30 minutes for one spot in the only 6 available lanes. Tennis courts are equally busy. Good luck finding a 20-30 lb dumbbell available. They only have one machine for each standard exercise, if you want to do pulldowns (which everyone does) they only have one spot and it's always occupied. They have the space but it's divided up weirdly where they have extra classrooms, squash courts, wellness massage rooms, and other things like this, but not enough basics.

Great pool to swim, it does get very busy but what gym in Chicago doesn’t. Pool is 50 meters by 25 yards. There is a sauna which is small and the temperature seems quite low around 160. It takes a long time to get a sweat going. The sauna is also roughly a 6 person sauna with about 8 people in it at all times. Gym is clean and a nice place to go.
